Team-building opportunities for corporate volunteers

Explore the opportunity to tour Eva’s Village and volunteer in our Soup Kitchen, serving a nutritious lunch to over 350 homeless and working poor individuals.

CALL FOR AVAILABLE DATES: Cyndi Roberson at 973-523-6220 ext. 226

Volunteering as a group at Eva’s village is interesting, rewarding, and a great team building exercise. What better way to bring a group together than to help others and be reminded of how fortunate the group is to have employment, food on the table, decent medical care and a wonderful group of friends and coworkers?

• Learn what it takes to create, build, fund and operate a successful comprehensive anti-poverty organization — we invite your questions!

• Tour our programs.

• Serve as a group in Eva’s Kitchen.

• And then we hope you’ll be inspired to do even more with us in the future!

Becton Dickinson and Company

Volunteers from Becton Dickinson and Company, Contracting Operations Department, Franklin Lakes, came to help the children at Eva’s prepare for Mother’s Day. The children all decorated gift bags, journals and made cards for their Mom. Everyone had a wonderful time being creative and even a little silly at times. We are very grateful for BD’s generosity and shared compassion.

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) from Franklin Lakes participated in the Bond, Boost and Build program at Eva’s Village.  The program helps corporations Bond with fellow employees, Boost their spirit of mission and sharing and Build a team through service to others.

Eva’s Village was founded in 1982 by Msgr. Vincent E. Puma in response to the homeless problem in his Paterson, NJ parish. But Msgr. Puma soon realized that a soup kitchen was not enough. With the generous support of thousands of donors and private and government grants, Eva’s Village has grown into one of the most comprehensive and respected anti-poverty non profit in New Jersey, with over a dozen important programs to help the poor and a four-star (maximum) rating by Charity Navigator, an independent non-profit monitor.

AstraZeneca sales representatives from Bergen and Passaic County participated in our Bond, Boost and Build Program which provided them with an overview of all our 12 (and counting!) programs, a tour of our several block campus. Then they all pitched in and worked together in our fast-paced Eva’s Kitchen, serving a hot meal to hundreds of the hungry and homeless. They didn’t even blink an eye when we passed out the mops and brooms to clean up!
