Members of the New Jersey Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists (NJCRS) recently participated in the Bond, Boast and Build (BBB) Program at Eva’s Village in Paterson. They presented a generous donation to Sister Gloria Perez, Executive Director of Eva’s Village.
The NJCRS participants toured the Village and then helped in Eva’s Kitchen, the soup kitchen program at Eva’s Village. Eva’s Village provides a wide range of services for the poor in New Jersey, including food, shelter, substance abuse treatment, primary medical and dental care and a variety of transitional and permanent housing options.
NJCRS has designated Eva’s Village as its charity this year. Over several months an extraordinary volunteer team collected and donated household items to supply our new transitional housing for men. The volunteer team led by Mary Ann Walsh, Michelle Rosenkoff and Barbara Mulcahy volunteered over three days to personally decorate the nine bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 2 kitchens. The results were welcoming and heartwarming. Michelle Rosenkoff, 2011 NJCRS Chapter President, shared “being a part of these efforts has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to help make someone’s life a little better.
